Notes: In his marriage contract of 27 June 1694, his bride's dowry was set at 100 Thaler, one horse, one cow, 1 Malter of rye, a side of bacon, a bride wagon suitable for their class, and half the wedding expense. Witnesses to the contract were Johan Arentß of Volksdorf and Cordt Arentß of Niedernwöhren. Also listed were Dorothea Elisabet [Ahldag?] half-sister to the groom and Hinrich Wehrhan brother of the bride, who had to pay the dowry. His son Hans Hermann Harmening’s marriage contract of 1733 mentions only a mother and her two minor children residing in Hespe, implying that Johan Herman had passed away.
