Notes:
At his marriage in 1733 he became a Brinksitzer when his mother ceded to him the home in Hespe and went into retirement (Leibzucht). He himself retired in Hespe Nr. 32, and died there of consumption.

Hans Hermann Harmening is not to be confused with Johan Hermann Harmening, baptized 19 Sep 1707, son of the Niedernwöhren smith Johan Herman Hermening. The two can be distinguished by Hans Hermann’s residence in Hespe, not in Niedernwöhren, and by his being mentioned as an adult in his widowed mother’s second marriage contract in 1737 and in his brother Johann Albert Harmening’s marriage contract of 1746. Note that both of these two were confirmed in Meerbeck in 1720. A Hans Herm. Harmening also passed away in Niedernwöhren Nr. 17 in 1781 at age 55. Hans Hermann is also not to be confused (as does SP2) with the Brinksitzer in Meerbeck named Johann Herman Hermening, who married about three times, once about 1724 and in 1737. These confusions are abetted by the fact that the children of Johan Henrich Harmening are not well documented in the Meerbeck church records.
