Notes: Lydia graduated Ord High School in 1927 and took nurses training at the Lutheran Hospital in York. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a member and past president of Ruth Society, charter member, past president, and Archives Chairman of the Altar Guild, member and past president of the Grand Island Women's Club, past president and member of the Ideal Extension Club, past chairman of the Hall County Extension Council, a Red Cross volunteer, Stuhr Museum Volunteer, member of the Nebraska "Cow Belles", and a 4-H member. She was a prolific genealogist. In 1985 she owned the northeast quarter of Section 34, Enterprise Township, Valley County. She died of cancer.
