Notes:
Mayor (Schultheiß) of Goddelau. His name appeared on the smaller church bell in Goddelau, cast in 1662 by Peter Speck in Mentz. He built the first known inn in Goddelau about 1650, across from the church. The "Grüne Baum" (Green Tree) was kept in the Schaffner family for generations until 1755, when Joh. Conrad Hardt took it over by marrying the only daughter of the cooper and innkeeper Daniel Schaffner. The inn finally closed in 1892 and it was badly damaged by a firebomb the night before Palm Sunday, 1943. It was sold to a bank in 1956. which erected a bank "Kreissparkasse" with a pub "Riedschänke" in the basement.
