From “Misenbach daß frautmainischer gericht in Underm Bairlandt". This is apparently Miesenbach (Ruhpolding), in the Traunstein district in Oberbayern. (Less likely would be Mengkofen-Mißlbach, which was in the Rentamt Landshut, Herzogtum Niederbayern. Or it could be Miesbach, but this town was at that time the seat of the Reichsgrafschaft Hohenwaldeck, and not part of Bavaria.) Bavaria was divided into the Oberland (Rentämter München and Burghausen) and the Unterland (Rentämter Landshut and Straubing). The identification as Miesenbach (Ruhpolding) relies on the large number of K[h]aindler/Kandler families there, including a Simon Khaindler. There is a Kaindlerhof in Ruhpolding-Schwaig to this day.

Simon is mentioned as the father of Lucia Khaindlerin, who married Peter Eder on 30 Jun 1655 in Ruhpolding. That marriage record says that Lucia was from [Bad] Reichenhall, so it is possible that Simon Khaindler was from there.

The Kaindlerhof in Ruhpolding-Schwaig is called Am Kaindler in der Schwaig, and has the numbers Vachenau 5, Schwaig 4. Its earliest Kaindler owner was Hanß Kaindler, listed in a census of 1554. Also mentioned are Christian and Christina Kaindler (1566), Hans Khaindler (1626), Georg Khaindler (1645), and Simon Kaindler (in the forest property description of 1717). Wolf Pichler (died 1672) married Maria Magdalena Kainler in 1647. She died in 1664, killed by a wild steer in a mountain meadow. There is a stone cross to her in the Unternberg-Moos. Two more generations of Pichlers lived in this house, followed by Schirghofer, Gastager, Bayerberger, then Müller.
