Notes:
Windmiller in Altenhagen Nr. 25, assuming the contract from his late father. He had cosigned the lease with his father in 1726. In 1734 he notified the government in Bückeburg that the mill in Altenhagen was in need of repair, and that, although he was contractually bound to pay for such repairs, he was unable to do so. Some repairs were performed in 1735 when Holste negotiated a new lease, but in 1737 extensive renovations were undertaken by the mill builder Philipp Dralle from Lauenhagen, resulting in a nearly completely new mill. In 1738, Holste applied for and received an inheritable lease to the mill for 150 Talers per annum, which he then tried unsuccessfully to nullify. In 1739 he unsuccessfully applied for the rights to build a windmill in Großenheidorn. So instead he subleased the mill to Friedrich Beckedorf from Bordenau and retained some of the annual profits for himself and his heirs. He also owned a Halbmeierhof and a share of another farm. On 29 May 1740 he was the baptismal sponsor for Johann Heinrich Geistmann in Steinhude.
