Notes:
Fred. He was listed as a servant for his half brother August Rewinkel in Langendorf in 1861. Fred and William Wolter came to the US in 1868, landing at Boston on the RMS Tripoli, a royal mail steamer operated by the Cunard line, Boston passenger ship list dated 6 July 1868. (The Tripoli is mentioned in Jules Verne’s 1870 novel “A Floating City”.) It appears that Fred and William initially set sail on the S.S. Siberia, also of the Cunard line. The Siberia, bound from Liverpool to Boston, twice set back to Queensland, the second time on 17 June 1868 with her shaft broken. Her cargo and passengers were transferred to the Tripoli, which then set sail on 24 June 1868. The Tripoli was a slower ship normally used to transport mail and cargo.

Fred settled first in Eitzen Minnesota, working on the farm of Charles and Sarah Albee. On 25 February 1870 he filed his declaration of intent to become a citizen of the United States in Caledonia, Houston County, Minnesota. He was a baptismal sponsor for Henry Kohlmeier in Eitzen on 28 August 1870. He then moved to Nebraska in 1871 (FYH.15) or on 6 April 1872 (FYH.30, REW1, LYONS, EE4, SDG2).

Fred worked in Lyons for Walter Lyon for several years before marriage. He was a charter member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church near Lyons, Nebraska, on 23 April 1874. They settled in June 1875 on the farm three and a half miles south of Lyons, where they lived in the two rooms above the granary before moving into their house on 6 September 1882. This was in the southwest quarter of Section 7, Oakland Township (later Bell Creek Township), Burt County. He also co-owned, with his brother, 80 acres in Section 11, close to Dodge Creek. In 1885 he had a hired hand on the farm, Peter L. Nelson. He obtained his US citizenship on 28 September 1886 in the District Court in Burt County in Tekamah. He attended the Nebraska district convention of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, 19–25 August 1903 in Hampton, Nebraska, and the one on 14 Aug 1912 in Seward, Nebraska. He and his wife served on the reception committee for the 1909 reunion of the Burt County Pioneers and Old Settlers Organization. Fred died of a lung condition after suffering a lung hemorrhage the previous August.

Taufpaten: Der Zimmermann Webs in Langendorf, 2. Johann Christian Fallap in Hamburg.

He usually gave his birth year as 1847. BOPL gives his name as Fredick Warbruaks[?], but the card index BOPLI, apparently prepared from a different source, gives his name as Freidr. Wrabwinkel. BOPL and BOPLI give his age in 1868 as 18. LD2.2 gives his birthdate as 18 Jun 1846, as does REW20.43, but stricken out and written 20 July 1847. ASR gives his age as 44 years on 20 Jul 1890.
